"When a school building must be renovated, or planners are asked to build a new one, what is important to keep in mind is that we have to communicate and engage also in the planning and design stage all the stakeholders that in different ways, and to several degrees, are involved in the project, "said Eng. Kopeining, illustrating the pilot case of St. Leonard kindergarten, located in Austria on the border with Slovenia and Italy. "When the municipality administration," continued the engineer. Kopeining, "asked us to design a school renovation project we presented them a planning in terms of how will be population growth and social needs of the local community in the future, to be able to design a school that would respond exactly to future needs of the community, and that could lead to reduce costs and greater social well-being. Then the teachers were involved, and asked them which were their needs and how they would improve the school environmen. At the same time we asked for participation of local companies, asking for their commitment to complete the retrofit during summer. Finally, the community has been involved in the project, and it was explained to them the importance of using wood, being the village of St. Leonard located inside a Natural Park. "
