The third meeting  of the Transnational of Blue Energy Laboratory (TBEL) was held from June 5 to 7 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The event, organized by the Technical University of Thessaloniki as part of the MAESTRALE project, was an opportunity to discuss the state-of-art and the implementation of blue energies in the Mediterranean area and to present the pilot projects implemented by the project partners.

Amongst others, some projects were highlighted: for example the renovation of an hospital in Croatia, where the difference of temperature gradient of sea water is exploited to produce energy, the floating laboratory PLOCAN installed in the Canary Islands, Spain, and the important  experience carried out by the University of Siena in Giglio Island where wind is exploited to produce energy.

The event was attended by experts and stakeholders of the whole Mediterranean area, but also by project partners, among which Informest.  Within the partnership Informest coordinates the communication activities and organizes the workshops on Blue Energy in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The project Maestrale is financed by FESR within the Interreg MED 2014-2020 programme. The project promotes Blue Energy as a key sector for the sustainable growth in the Mediterranean region and it involves 11 partners  from 8 States: Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal and Slovenia.
